Today is quite hectic day for me. I have to finish up the latest chapter for two sections. So my day consists of lots of talking, explaning and answering questions. You will be surprise with the level of creativity of these days students have. They ask questions that never even cross my mind. They even came up with words and sentences that I never heard before. It was not my intention to laugh at them but their antics just amusing. The two sections today were among the most active sections I teach. It was tiring but interesting at the same time. They really make me laugh.

I just finished the last class for today about thirty minutes ago. Now I just surfing the Net and looking for some materials for tomorrow classes. When you are working in academic field you learn to think ahead of time. Your day will be filled with plans, activities and exercises for the next classes. Now I know teacher's job does not begin and end in the classroom only. It begins before the class and continues until after the class end.

I just browsing through my Friendster and read one of the bulletin which my friend posted to me. It was funny and amusing. Please do read and start to remember and bring back all the memories you have while you were a student.

Battle Hymn of Term Finals

Mine eyes have seen the horror
Of the ending of the term
It has poisoned all my spirits
Like an apple with a worm
It's infected all my freedom
Like an ugly cancer germ
The truth shall soon be known.

Chorus: Failure, failure, degradation,
Failure and humiliation,
Failure, failure, academia,
The truth shall soon be known.

I have listened to the teachers
But the homework leaves me cold
I have never done assignments
Although many times been told
I have even missed my classes
When I was feeling bold
The truth shall soon be known

Chorus: Failure, failure, degradation,
Failure and humiliation,
Failure, failure, academia,
The truth shall soon be known.

They are adding all my points up
And I haven't earned but few
In fact, I haven't even gotten
More than one or two
Oh, if I could only find an answer
Anything to do
The truth shall soon be known.

Chorus: Failure, failure, degradation,
Failure and humiliation,
Failure, failure, academia,
The truth shall soon be known.

On the lines of every gradebook
There is solemn news for me
The worst is yet to come when
Financial Aid ignores my plea
So I guess the only answer is
To drop my books and flee
The truth shall soon be known.

Chorus: Failure, failure, degradation,
Failure and humiliation,
Failure, failure, academia,
The truth shall soon be known.

Well, the end has finally come
And I have failed to pass a class
Though the fun and laughter, goofing off
Was really quite a gas
But I won't be in the numbers
Of the capped and gowned mass
The truth was finally shown.

Chorus: Failure, failure, degradation,
Failure, and humilation,
Failure, failure, academia,
The truth was finally known.

The chorus part never fail to make me smile. I can imagine the setting already. Like a theatre with a group of people on stage, drapping white clothes all over their bodies and doing the melancholic pose and mourning about their failure. Parody of tragic play anyone? Shakespeare will drown in his own tears if he happen to watch this hymn being staged.
