Evolution of Musical Genres: A Complete (sort of) Timeline

1983-1988: Not really concern about music and radio.

1989-1995: Listening to some ‘rock kapak’ (not by choice ok? But my sister liked them. When you only had 1 radio at home you learned not to make fuss). Addicted to Cranberries’ Zombie and some songs by Scorpion.

1996-2000: The year (or years) of Enlightenment. Hitz.fm was introduced and started hording Galaxie and Lime. Crazy (obsessed more likely) with Backstreet Boys and 911. Listening to ‘N Sync, Westlife, Spice Girls and the like. Also a bit of Alanis Morissette and Metallica.

2001-2002: Matriculation Era. Introduction to Literature and learned about critical thinking. New genre of music preference: Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. No longer listening to teeny boppers.

2003-2007: Revolution Era: From English songs moved to Japanese. (J-Pop: Hirae Ken, Suga Shikao, Angela Aki, Orange Range. J-Rock: Miyavi, The Gazette, Gackt, Hyde) then to Spanish (Enrique Iglesias, Shakira) to Mandarin ( Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, S.H.E) then Korean ( DBSK, Big Bang)

2008-Present: Words cannot describe. Bandom (My Chemical Romance, Panic at The Disco, Fall Out Boy, One Republic, Muse) Conventional defying (Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert) Pop (Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls. 2NE1, Ke$ha),

Late October 2010: Sudden urge to listen to French songs. Started with Zazie then Mozart L’Opera Rock.

There’s a saying “You are what you eat”. If this saying apply to music “You are what you listen to”, then who or what I really am then?

Mood: Tired

Music: La chanson de l'aubergiste-Mozart L'Opéra Rock
